BACK ON THE BBC

Getting a prime spot on the front row

Dave Birss, writer, speaker, advisor

Many years ago, I used to be a regular guest poet on BBC Radio. I’d appear on Radio 7 and Radio 4 to write poems live on air with kids. It was an utterly terrifying experience. But as with all things that scare the holy crap out of you, it forced me to grow and pick up new skills. I went on to become a breakfast show co-host on a local radio station. And I ran my own podcast for a while.

So radio has a very dear place in my heart. Especially BBC radio.

Naturally, I was thrilled to bits when Radio 4 got in touch to invite me onto Front Row to talk about creativity. I was up in Scotland with my family, so they patched me in remotely from their Glasgow studio.

I’m at the end of the show, around 23:30, if you fancy an earful. Just click on the image below to listen on the BBC player.
